[Also in Group XI] A device for inspecting machinery and the like comprises a chassis capable of being inserted under the machinery and carrying a lamp and a mirror in which the underside of the machinery is visible, the chassis being mounted on bowed skids. As shown the mirror A is on a chassis B supported on bowshaped skids b so as to be rockable about a horizontal axis, the chassis having a pivoted handle B<SP>1</SP> to facilitate its insertion under the machinery, motor-car, &c., to be inspected, and a lamp a<SP>1</SP> for illumination. A screen B<SP>2</SP> may be provided to prevent direct light from reaching the mirror, and a small seat may also be pivoted to the chassis. The mirror may comprise a lens silvered on one side to give a magnified image.
