Abstract
843,654. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. Aug. 15, 1958 [Aug. 19, 1957], No. 26136/57. Class 135. A pressure liquid control valve comprises a valve 17 oppositely movable from a neutral position to supply a pressure motor via ports 41, 42, Fig. 3, and subjected to opposing thrusts in end chambers 25, 32 to which liquid is admitted through restrictions 44, 71 and from which liquid escapes through another restriction, one of the restrictions in each chamber being variable, e.g. restriction 53, Fig. 4, in response to electrical signals applied to the solenoid valve 62 and the other 81 in response to movement of the valve, e.g. by the orifice 81 moving over an adjustable needle valve 79. Pressure is supplied at 36, 38 and through movable nozzles 46, 73, port 37 acting as drain, and the bleed off from chamber 25 through the solenoid needle valve is connected together with the end chambers 7, 10 by a dotted conduit 11 leading to drain. The pressure established in chamber 25 moves the piston valve 17 until the leak off orifice 81 is adjusted to establish an equal counter pressure in chamber 32, the two needle valves being preferably so designed as to give a lineal relationship between the rate of fluid flow to the motor and the strength of the electrical signal in the two opposed coils 68, 69 of the solenoid.
