840,565. Making wheels. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Oct. 11, 1957 [Nov. 19, 1956], No. 31887/57. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXXIV] A wheel of the form shown in Fig. 3 (see Group XXXIV) is made by forging a billet to the shape and size of the main wheel part 12c, drilling an axial bore in the centre of the forging to receive a bearing 72c, cutting and finishing the axially outer facing wheel side of the forging, roll burnishing the flange 38c and rim half 64c, and cutting ventilating openings (as by punching out the parting flash 86 of the forging) in the wheel web 78c.
