Abstract

A "fair-faced" building board or panel, made by applying a thin web, e.g. a woven or bonded fabric of regenerated cellulose, jute, cotton, glass fibre, nylon or polyethylene terephthalate, or of wire mesh, to one or both faces of a band of rigid fissured base material such as wood wool slab or resin-bonded compressed straw, is sprayed or otherwise coated with a plastics material such as a dispersion or latex of a vinyl chloride/acetate copolymer, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated rubber or butadieneacrylonitrile copolymer, and the laminated material is then cut into boards or panels.
