Abstract

A building board or panel comprises a slab of fibrous, porous material such as bonded wood-wool or straw, which is coated on one or both surfaces with plaster slurry to which is applied a bonded, woven or other fabric which may be of regenerated cellulose, jute, cotton, glass fibre or metal wire mesh. A flexible synthetic plastics layer such as vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer dispersed in solvents and plasticizers, polyvinyl chloride latices, chlorinated rubber solutions and butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer latices is then sprayed or otherwise applied to the fabric. The surface of the board may be embossed. Specification 840,129 is referred to.
