839,812. Milling-cutters. GLEASON WORKS. June 25, 1958 [July 1, 1957], No. 20419/58. Class 83 (3). A face mill cutter for spiral bevel gears comprises blades 18, each secured in a slot 12 by a screw 22 in a position determined by a wedge 16 adjusted by a screw 27 having flat faces engaging a slot 26 in the wedge. Shims 21 may be used for coarse adjustment. One master blade (or two such blades if alternate blades have outside and inside cutting edges) has its wedge pinned to prevent movement. Specification 804,803 is referred to.
