Abstract
839,077. Spring clips. RIBAS, M. P. Dec. 31, 1957, No. 9358/59. Divided out of 839,075. Class 44 [Also in Group XV] A cap 29 for a pen 20 comprises a shell 80 provided with a clip 99 suitably bent from laminated resilient flat wire the superposed ends of which extend through an opening 98 in the shell 80 and are fixed to a member 107 by a screw 109. The shell 80 has a sleeve 85 secured therein by two small rivets 88, Fig. 3, which have hollow stems, in conjunction with which passages 90 in the sleeve 85 form air vents. Disposed between the sleeve 85 and the member 107 is a spring 110 adapted to press the member 107 against a push-button 105 which projects through a hole 94 in the shell 80. When the push-button is depressed the clip pivots about the opening 98 to permit insertion between it and the shell 80 of, for example, a pocket edge. The pen 20 is provided with two pressed members 30 in diametrically-opposed positions to engage the inner surface of the cap 29 for retaining the latter to cover the nib when the pen is not being used. In a modification the spring 110 is omitted and the member 107 and the push-button 105 are replaced by a member to which the clip is fixed and which is fitted in the end of the shell 80.
