Abstract
821,340. Clips. CZERWINSKI, J. Nov. 12, 1957 [Oct. 1, 1956], No. 29805/56. Class 44 [Also in Group XV] The pocket clip of a fountain pen is pivoted at the closed end of the point protecting cap and constitutes a part of the self-filling mechanism of the pen. The clip 42 is pivoted at 52 and, when the cap 35 is positioned on the rear end of the pen, can be swung to the position shown so as to force downwards a tubular compression member 40 which is slidable in the cap against the bias of a spring 39, thereby actuating the self-filling mechanism (see Group XV). When the cap 35 is positioned over the nib of the pen the lower end 30 of the member 40 engages the nib section thereby locking the clip 42 in a position adjacent to and parallel to the side of the cap 35.
