Abstract
798,155. Reservoir pens. OSMOND, Ltd., E. Feb. 8, 1956 [Feb. 8, 1955], No. 3730/55. Class 146(3) A writing instrument comprises an outer casing which includes a body portion 1 and cap 2, a writing unit, e.g, a ball-point pen, urged by a spring 4 into retracted position, a pocket clip 8 pivotally mounted on the cap having two arms 9 extending into the cap, a plunger 14 for moving the unit into writing position extending through the arms 9, and a leaf spring 11 fixed to the arms 9, such that one end of the clip is urged against the outside of the cap, the plunger 14 or the spring 10 having a tooth 13 engageable in a recess 16 in the spring or plunger when the unit is in writing position, but disengageable therefrom when the clip is rocked to disengage the end thereof from the outside of the cap, such as when the instrument is inserted in the user's pocket.
