Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0837266/IV (b)/1> (wherein R is lower alkyl and B is ortho- or meta - di - (lower alkyl) - amino, the lower alkyl groups containing at most 6 carbon atoms) and acid-addition salts thereof; and their preparation by reacting a 3 : 4 : 5-trialkoxy-benzoic acid halide, ester or azide with an ortho- or meta-di-(lower alkyl)-amino-aniline, advantageously in chloroform solution. Examples are given and a list of salt-forming acids is provided. Ortho-dimethylaminoaniline dihydrochloride is prepared by hydrogenation of o-nitrodimethylaniline. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 797,476.
