A telecommunication cable comprises at least two conductors insulated with a composition consisting predominately of a linear highly crystalline polypropylene. The cable may also be sheathed with the composition, which gives sufficient stiength for the wire armouring to be omitted, and a thin layer of p.v.c. may be applied over the sheath. The composition may comprise paper impregnated with the polypropylene, or polypropylene alone, and may be applied by extrusion, or by winding on ropes or tapes, which may subsequently be heated to improve adhesion.
