Abstract
836,427. Converting. JAMES, W. D. M., and JAMES, K. V. R., [trading as JAMES BROS.]. Aug. 16, 1957 [Aug. 22, 1956], No. 25670/56. Class 38 (2). In a converting circuit a transformer having a primary winding P and secondary winding S is supplied with D.C. intermittently through contacts x and is provided with an auxiliary winding A shunted by a condenser C to increase the output voltage of the secondary winding. The circuit is interrupted by a relay R e controlled by a condenser C 1 , and a condenser C 2 is across the contacts to minimize sparking. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown) the primary and auxiliary windings are in series and the transformer core controls the opening and closing of the contacts.
