Abstract

836,170. Pipe connections. ABBOFLEX Ltd. Aug. 13, 1958 [Oct. 31, 1957], No. 34062/57. Class 99(1). A connector for flexible tubing comprises a tubular metallic member having a spigot 13 extending axially from a flange 16, said spigot providing three axially adjacent zones 15, 17, 19 wherein the first 15 and third 19 are frustoconical whilst the second zone 17 is cylindrical and has a helical rib 18 formed thereon. The rib 18 engages the helical groove 25 of the metallic core 20 of a flexible tube 21 and a ferrule 22 is radially compressed to grip the sheath 24 of rubber or synthetic plastic.
