Abstract
836,096. Delay networks. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO. Inc. April 29, 1958 [April 30, 1957], No. 13575/58. Class 40 (8). A bridged-T all-pass delay network comprises additional shunt capacitance to compensate the parasitic inductance associated with capacitors in the series or bridging branch. As shown, the capacitor C3 is adjusted to compensate the inductance of the leads of the two equal capacitors C1 in the series branch. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the series branch comprises two equal inductors and the bridging branch a single capacitor. It is stated that by this method of compensation the delay characteristic is improved and the image impedance made more nearly constant and non- reactive over the working range. Expressions for the value of C3 in terms of the other reactances and the image impedance are given. U.S.A. Specification 1,735,052 is referred to.
