[Class 40 (viii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] A constant-impedance two-terminal network with terminals X, X for use as a shunt impedance in an intervalve coupling in a wideband amplifier, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises a network having a mid-series termination connected in parallel with a network having a mid-shunt termination. The two networks have the same nominal impedance and the same pass-bands, and are reflectionlessly terminated at their further ends. The networks may be of the simple type shown, or they may be of other constant-k or m-derived types, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown). The mid-shunt and mid-series terminations may be completed by high shunt and low series resistances 12, 14, which compensate for extreme values attained by the network impedances at the cut-off frequencies. Capacity inherent in the valve may form part of the mid-shunt termination.
