Abstract

835,591. Motor vehicles. GARRETT & CO. Ltd., C. March 4, 1958 [March 4, 1957]. No. 7155/57. Class 103(2) [Also in Groups XVII, XXV and XXXVIII] A cash box 10 is provided with locking mechanism enabling it to be secured to a base platform 25 attached to the floor of a vehicle. After locking the lid 11 shut, the box is placed over the platform 25 so that upstanding lugs 40 enter holes 35 and cause a sliding bolt 26 to push back against its springs 31 by reason of contacting curved surfaces 41 and 34; the box's weight then pushes it down and forwards so that the bolt 26 is spring-urged to engage the lugs 33 and 40 while lips 37 of two upstanding plates 36 interengage with an inturned lug 43 on the bottom of the rear wall 13. The box can be detached from the platform 25 by operation of a key in the lock 30.
