1464534 Protective tray for vehicle load space D THOMPSON 21 Jan 1974 [27 Jan 1973] 4263/73 Heading B7B A tray for protecting the load carrying surface of a vehicle, in particular that of an estate car, comprises a base-plate 12 and upstanding side walls 14, each wall being provided with at least one housing 27 for engaging a wheel arch or other protrusion of the vehicle body to prevent longitudinal movement of the tray. In use the tray is laid over the load surface and is positioned by portions, such as the wheel arch housings 20, engaging parts of the vehicle. The tray has a front wall 16 and may be provided with one or more hinged lids (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), dependent on its size, and with shelves (Fig. 4).
