Abstract

833,283. Truck brakes. OMIC Ltd. June 30, 1958 [March 28, 1957], No. 10171/57. Class 103 (1). A pallet truck or like conveyance has a brake mechanism operated by means of a lever 22 having its lower end pivoted to the truck operating handle 7 near the upper end thereof, the upper end of the lever 24 being spaced a short distance from the truck handle 25, a. cable connecting the brake lever to the braking means. The lever end cross-arm 24 is preferably of semicircular cross-section so as to fit flush against the truck handle 25, which is of circular cross-section. The lower end of the cable is connected to a drum member 36 and engages a lever 17, which operates.a cam actuator (not shown) between shoes in a brake drum for each pair of wheels 5 and 6. The drum member 36 is urged outwardly of its cylinder 35 by a spring 38.
