Abstract

832,972. Protective cut-out arrangements. ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS-G.m.b.H. Jan. 4, 1957 [Jan. 6, 1956], No. 555/56. Class 38 (5). In a three-phase system R, S, T, with a resistance-earthed neutral, a directional distance relay (indicated at A) is connected to the appropriate phase conductors under phase-fault and earth-fault conditions by starting relays connected in a star-connected current transformer arrangement, over-current starting relays St 1 ... St 3 being connected in series with the current transformers 1 ... 3 and an earth-fault starting relay St 4 being connected to the starconnection 7 by means of a transformer C which enables the relay St 4 to respond to small earthfault currents. The circuits controlled by the relay A may be supplied from a battery B (as shown) or from saturable transformers connected in series with the starting relays, Fig. 2 (not shown). In the latter case the saturable transformers may be connected to the relay by changeover contacts of the relays St 1 ... St 4 and an alternative supply from voltage transformers may be provided and controlled by under-voltage relays.
