Abstract

1,255,401. Protective arrangements. A. REYROLLE & CO. Ltd. 31 July, 1970 [7 May, 1969], No. 23250/69. Heading H2K. An A.C. tripping circuit for a circuit-breaker 10, e.g. in a 250 MVA 11 kV A.C. system, comprises an A.C. trip coil 12 in series in the line protected by the circuit-breaker, and a saturable reactor 13 in parallel with the trip coil 12 to protect the latter from damage by fault currents. The reactor may comprise a stack of insulated laminations of annular form surrounding a single straight bar conductor clamped alongside the trip coil.
