832,811. Wall tiles. ALEXANDER, R. J. April 3, 1958 [April 3, 1957], No. 1095/57. Class 87(1) A wall tile comprises a facing portion 1 and a backing portion 3 which is relatively displaced upwards to fit behind tiles of a superposed course. The top and bottom faces of the backing portion are slightly inclined downwardly to the rear face. The backing portion may be somewhat longer and higher than the facing portion to leave space for mortar joints and may have nail holes 5 or a hanging nib or nibs. A groove 9 in the facing portion 1 forms a moisture trap. Base and eaves tiles and L-shaped corner tiles are provided. In a modification, the tile is doubly stepped.
