[Also in Division B5] A composite building panel, suitable for covering walls, &c., consists of an upper layer 3 of conventional or polyester-varnish, a thin wood veneer 2, a plywood panel 1, and a lower layer 4 of expanded polystyrene. The veneer coating 2 may comprise a medley of differently patterned adjacent strips which blend to give homogeneity of pattern. Adjacent panels co-operate by a tongue (5) and groove (8) arrangement, the upper face 7 of tongue 5 being longer than the lower face 6, so that fixing nail 10 remains concealed by portion 9 of the adjacent panel.
