Abstract

832,739. Remote radio tuning control. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. March 17, 1958 [March 26, 1957], No. 8524/58. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] In a system for the remote control of a radio receiver over several tuning ranges with the aid of a self-balancing bridge, Fig. 5, the angle through which the tuning element is moved in response to a full-scale movement of the slider of the control resistor RC is varied from range to range by the selective connection of fixed resistors of various values at R1, R2. If the tuning ranges are as shown in Fig. 2, in which the scales are graduated in kilocycles, and if the value of RC is 1000 ohms and the values of R1, R2 are as shown in Fig. 6, for the various ranges, a full-scale adjustment of RC always corresponds to a variation of 100 kilocycles and the slider can be geared to the tens and units wheels of a digital display device of which the wheels of higher denomination are controlled by the switches connecting up. the. resistors R1, R2.
