Abstract
832,418. Spray-producers. BAHNSON CO. Sept. 10, 1957 [May 20, 1957], No. 28522/57. Class 69 (3). A self-cleaning nozzle of the swirl type is fed with liquid from a passage 16, and the nozzle outlet 8 is provided in a dome-shaped cap 7 of an elastic material, e.g. rubber, detachably fitted in the top of the swirl chamber 3. The cap is flanged and is held against the flange 6 of the nozzle body by the liquid pressure : the cap has an integral tab 11 for its removal. A tapered tubular bushing 12 of an elastic material is held by a shoulder 15 at the end of the passage 16, and has a narrow outlet slit 13 arranged tangential to the swirl chamber. Any particles that become trapped in the bushing or cap cause expansion of the outlets thereof and the removal of the particles.
