Class 39(3) [Also in Group XXXVI] A sheathed electric heater 17 of a hotplate for a cooking stove has contact pins 21 connected to a main connector 14 on the stove by an adaptor 26. The adaptor comprises a channel shaped insulating body divided into three compartments, the outer compartment containing clip contacts 34 for receiving the bifurcated pins 21 and the central compartment containing a clip contact 25 for receiving a double conical pin 24 on the hot-plate member, this pin and the contact 25 co-operating to hold the hot-plate member in engagement with the adaptor. Contacts 34 are connected to pins 27 secured to the base of the channel shaped body and contact 25 is connected to an earth pin. The ends of the sheaths carry inner bushes 20, outer bushes 22. and an elongated flanged plate 23 is brazed around the ends of the sheaths to space them apart. The hot plate may be of cast iron
