Abstract

831,642. Remote control switching apparatus. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO. Ltd. July 11, 1956 [July 28, 1955], No. 21854/55. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XXXVII] A receiver specially suitable for systems of control over power lines operates only on the reception of two pulses with the correct time interval between them, the particular switching action being determined by the duration of the second pulse. As shown, the first pulse moves contact 10 to the right to drive motor 13 to a position in which contact 15 changes over and breaks the motor circuit. Where contact 10 falls back at the end of the pulse the motor is driven again. If the reset pulse is received while contacts 19, 21 are in engagement a circuit is made via thermal relay T for one of the operating coils 25 of a stable neutral relay 23 to connect up a load on 22 if necessary. If the duration of the pulse is sufficient, the thermal relay substitutes coil 24 for coil 25 and the load on 22 is switched off. Specifications 648,789 and 648,790 are referred to.
