Abstract

831,388. Pipe joints. HEPWORTH IRON CO. Ltd. Feb. 5, 1958 [Feb. 9, 1957], No. 4513/57 Classes 99(1) and 99(2). Earthenware or stoneware drain pipes 1, 7, are formed with plain ends and connected by a sleeve 3 of slightly resilient synthetic plastic, e.g. polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene, which is a force fit over the pipe ends. The ends of the pipe and the interior surface of the sleeve 3 may be chamfered slightly to facilitate the forcing of the sleeve on to the pipe ends.
