Abstract

829,406. Optical systems. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 16, 1956 [April 15, 1955], No. 11507/56. Class 97(1) An optical reproducing system, particularly for photography or television, comprising a lens objective, a field lens system, a relay lens system and an image surface is characterized in that the field lens system includes a first lens and a final lens spaced apart by their respective focal lengths from the exit pupil of the objective and the entrance pupil of the relay lens, the first lens of the field lens system and the objective being moved together for focusing. As shown the field system may comprise two achromatic doublets 21, 22, the doublet 21 moving with the objective 20 which has its exit pupil in the focal plane of the lens 21. The relay objective consists of members 23 and 24 and has its entrance pupil in the focal plane of the lens 22 so that an image of the exit pupil of the objective is formed in the entrance pupil of the relay lens in all positions of adjustment of the objective. The objective forms an image adjacent the lens 22 and the relay lens forms an image 25 of this image on the image surface 25a.
