Abstract

829,387. Spray-producers. AXELSON, E. A. A. Jan. 22, 1958 [Jan. 24, 1957], No. 2145/58. Class 69 (3). A heating system for paint &c. to be sprayed in heated condition includes a water-containing reservoir 1 heated by a thermostatically-controlled unit 3, and containing a water pump 4, a heat-exchanger 2, and an automatic water level control 13. The exchanger comprises a helically-corrugated tube 6 abutting inner and outer tubes 17 and 16, thereby providing two channels 18 and 19 in heat-exchange relation. The pump 4, driven by compressed air, draws hot water into its suction port 14 and forces it through an outlet 15, channel 18, and a hose 7 and back to the reservoir. Paint &c. to be sprayed is forced through a pipe 8, channel 19, and a hose 10 to a spray gun 11. The hoses 7 and 10 lie adjacent each other and are surrounded by a casing or hose 12. In a modification the latter is completely sealed about the paint hose, and the hose 7 debauches into it and a further hose leads the hot water back to the reservoir.
