Abstract
1,210,994. Injectors. L. C. HARVEY. June 10, 1969 [May 15, 1969], No.24855/69. Heading FIE. [Also in Divisions F2 and F4] A junction piece 9 forming part of a liquid circulation system comprises a 'T' junction 10 with an internally fitted elbow 11. An enlarged end 12 of the elbow forms a fluid tight force fit in the junction. The elbow may be of an integral construction with an enlarged end as illustrated, or a curved length of pipe with a portion of reduced diameter at one end, or a curved length of pipe with a collar secured at an end; alternatively the elbow may be formed by joining two halves e.g. by welding, in parallel seams. As shown, the junction piece 9 forms part of a water heating system Fig. 2 with a hot water tank 4, a circulation pump 6, supply pipes 3, 5 and pipe 2 delivering the combined supplies of pipes 3, 5 to the boiler 1 for reheating the water. The junction piece could be arranged alternatively with the pipe 3 leading into the elbow instead of pipe 5.
