Abstract

A device for supplying an anti-corrosion additive to boiler condensate flowing in a pipe 1 comprises a receptacle 2 for the solid additive and a capillary tube 4 axially adjustable within an outer tube 5, both tubes having small transverse bores 9, 10. In operaion fluid, mainly steam, from the pipe 1 seeps hrough the capillary tubes and bores and when the receptacle 2 s full of additive solution some will seep back into the pipe 1, he rate of seepage being determined by the alignment of the bores 9, 10. There is a stop valve 12. The charge of additive may be in the form of a cylindrical block with a central hole.
