Abstract
829,033. Washers; circlips; spring clip fastenings. SIEMENS EDISON SWAN Ltd. Jan. 9, 1958 [Jan. 28, 1957], No. 2992/57. Classes 44, 89(1) and 89(2) A retaining device, e.g. for holding a covering sheet 7, Fig. 2a, over apertures 6 in a plate 5, comprises a length of spring wire bent to substantially hairpin shape 1 with the ends bent to form a body 8, e.g. of circular form. In its free state the plane of part 1 is inclined to that of body 8. In use, part 1 is pressed into the plane of body 8 and held to plate 5 by a rivet, screw &c. 9. The ends of the wire may overlap at 12 on body 8 or at 4a, Fig. ib, on part 1. A washer 11 may be provided under the body 8.
