829,001. Heat-sensitive sheets. MINNESOTA MINING & MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 21, 1955 [March 28,1955], No. 36714/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2) A heat-sensitive copying sheet comprises a transparent, flexible support coated with a heat-sensitive layer of a material which reacts chemically on heating to undergo a visual change, and a visually opaque, moisture-resistant, protective layer over the heat sensitive layer. The heat-sensitive layer may comprise ferric stearate and a precipitate of hexamethylenetetramine and pyragallic acid in a binder of polyvinyl butyral. It may contain also citric or oxalic acid. The support may be transparent paper. The opaque layer may contain titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, zinc sulphide, antimony trioxide or lead carbonate in an ethyl cellulose or polyvinyl butyral binder. Extenders such as barium sulphate, barium carbonate, calcium carbonate or magnesium carbonate may be added to the opaque layer. Specifications 673,244 and 829,002 are referred to.
