Abstract

1,008,491. Radiography &c. GENERAL MAGNAPLATE CORPORATION. July 18, 1963 [March 5, 1963], No. 28437/63. Heading H5R. An intersifying screen for use in radiography comprises a backing member having a sheet of lead foil, e.g. 0À001 inch thick, on one of its surfaces, and at least the outer surface of the foil being covered with a thin coating of tin, the tin being from 0À075 to 3À0% by weight of the lead. Both surfaces may be coated, and the lead may contain 2À7-3À4% by weight of antimony. The backing member may be a flexible plastic sheet, e.g. of cellulose acetate, optically flat, carrying on its face opposite the lead foil, an opaque layer, e.g. of black paper. Specification 982,848 and 982,849 are referred to.
