Abstract

827,280. Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. AMPEX CORPORATION. Oct. 1, 1958 [Oct. 11, 1957], No. 31381/58. Class 40 (2). A tape transducing apparatus in which parallel arcuate tracks are traced out on a wide moving tape by angularly spaced transducers on a rotating head member, means are provided for adjusting the angularity between the portions of said head member to which said transducers are fixed. In the embodiment described the head member comprises a bevelled edge disc 10 in which the transducers are housed in apertures 28. The disc 10 is provided with four slots 41 in the outer end of which a tapered screw 44 is inserted in a tapped hole 43, whereby accurate angular spacing of the heads may be effected.
