Abstract
874,668. Magnetic record apparatus. INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS & TABULATORS Ltd. March 10, 1960 [March 26, 1959], No. 10552/59. Class 40 (2). In a magnetic signal transducing apparatus wherein accurate spacing between the record head and the record medium is required, fine adjustment means between a mounting member 1 and a head unit 2 comprises a differential screw 11 having threaded parts 10, 12 of different pitches engaging the member 1 and head unit 2, respectively. Similar means may be provided for effecting adjustment in a plane parallel to the record surface to allow accurate alignment to be effected with a pre-recorded track. After adjustment the head unit 2 is frictionally secured in position by the tightening of a set screw 7 which acts on a nylon pellet 6 pressing against the head unit 2.
