Abstract

837,353. Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. K.G.M. ELECTRONICS Ltd. Jan. 12, 1959 [Jan. 16, 1958], No. 1562/58. Class 40 (2). Angle-adjusting means for maintaining the gap of a magnetic head normal to a magnetic tape, comprises a base-plate and a pivotable and releasable head mounting-plate which engages an adjuster screw under the influence of resilient means acting between pivotal point and said adjuster screw. The embodiment shows a construction in which a base-plate 1 supports a pair of head-plates 5, each pivoted about approximately central points. The pivots comprise arcuate guiding surfaces in both base and head-plates and a pin or roller 4 therebetween, the parts being held together by the pressure of adjuster screws 9 acting about threaded pivotal bearings 12 under the influence of a spring 5, thereby enabling the head-plates, and heads mounted thereon, to be removed and replaced at will. The adjuster screws 9 are each provided with two different-pitched threads to facilitate fine adjustment.
