826,569. Centrifugal compressors. BUCHI, A. J. Jan. 26, 1956 [Jan. 27, 1955], No. 2668/56. Class 110 (1). In the compressor shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a number of discharge ducts 12 are formed by complementary channels 12a, 12b in casing parts 1, 2. At their radically outer ends the ducts are turned into the axial direction and extend through the part 1 to discharge at 1a into a volute 3. The part 2 is identical for compressors of differing output, whereas the part 1 is formed with a recess 12a which may be made deeper as in Fig. 3 to correspond to the greater width of the blade passages 511 of an impeller of greater output. The compressor may be of multi-stage type. The ducts are formed without undercut walls to permit manufacture of the casing parts by means of press tools or permanent coreless casting moulds.
