824,813. Wells. BUTLER, G. A. Oct. 14, 1957 [May 31, 1957], No. 32012/57. Class 85 Well completion apparatus comprises a casing head 10 having a conical seat 13, annular sealing means 50, 52 seated on an upper part of the seat, a pipe hanger 40, and means 48 connecting the sealing means and hanger so that without a pipe supported by the hanger, the hanger is solely supported by the sealing means (Fig. 2) and with a pipe 17 supported by the hanger the hanger rests on a lower part of the seat and the connecting means cause the sealing. means to form a fluid-tight seal between the pipe and hanger (Fig. 3) Slips 70 according to Specification 765,635 transfer the pipe weight to the hanger, the lower part of which has grooves 75, 78 forming webs 76 and permitting communication between the interior of the casing 30 and a branch connection 25. A tubing head (not shown) sealed to the top of the pipe surmounts the casing head.
