A record changer centre post has a record support movable between two limiting positions, in the first of which a first surface supports the stack while a second surface supports a single record in an intermediate position, and in the second position both the said surfaces are retracted to release the record in the intermediate position while a third surface supports the stack, whereupon a return to the first position causes the release of the lowermost record of the stack to the intermediate position. In the embodiment described, the record support comprises two identical members 6 and 7 embracing a third member 8 and performing a scissors movement therewith. In the initial position, Fig. 2, an operating plunger 11 holds the members extended against the tension of a spring 10 to support a stack of records A, B and C. Withdrawal of plunger 11 causes the extremities of members 6, 7 and 8 to retract, but an arm 18 on member 8 supports the stack until the plunger returns and the lowermost record A is released to an intermediate supporting position on the lower ends of the members 6, 7 and 8, Fig. 5, in which position the pick-up arm 25, Fig. 1, moves inwardly to sense the record diameter in known manner. A further upward movement of plunger 11 releases record A, while the remaining records B and C are supported by the arm 18, Fig. 6.
