Abstract

823,850. Polyethylene bags ; packages. MILSON, G. V. Jan. 10, 1957 [Jan. 10, 1956], No. 782/56. Classes 94(1) and 94(2). One or both ends of a polyethylene bag are closed by stitching, the stitch holes forming a line of weakness facilitating opening. The thread ends may extend to one side of the bag and be secured to a tag E for facilitating pulling them to open the bag. The other end of the bag may be closed by conventional crimping B. Both ends of a tubular length of the bag material may be enclosed by folded over strips, the strips then being sewn in place by a line of stitching. The strip may be grasped for tearing open the bag. Bag lengths may be arranged transversely of conveyer belts passing them to a strip applying and securing machine, upper and lower belt runs retaining the ends closed on either side of the contents.
