823,340. Measures of length. ETABLISSEMENTS QUENOT & CIE. Nov. 19, 1957 [Dec. 20, 1956], No. 35946/57. Class 106 (2). A measuring tape comprises a casing 2 and a tape 1 so graduated on one face that an indication of the internal measurement z is given by the graduation on the tape visible under an index mark b on a window f in the casing 2. The tape 1 is guided in the casing 2 by grooves g on the walls of the casing 2, thus forming a path of constant length. The other face of the tape 1 is graduated with its zero at the end of the tape in the normal way. In modifications the first scale may also have its zero at the end of the tape, the case 2 either being suitably elongated or else having a collapsible extension on its left-hand side.
