823,298. Connecting rods. ALLIS-CHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. March 8, 1957 [March 9, 1956], No. 7830/57. Class 122 (1). [Also in Groups I and XXIV] A transversely-resilient connecting rod, for use in driving the reciprocating blade of a mowing machine (see Group I), comprises a little end 137 integral with an inflexible portion 130 to which is riveted an assembly of leaf-springs carrying the big end bearing 140, 140<1>, 147. The central leaf-spring 138 is continuous, but the upper and lower springs, which are identical, each comprise two parts 142, 143 and 144, 145 mating along a wavy line to eliminate concentration of stress due to flexing of the assembly.
