822,805. Resilient mountings. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 5, 1956 [March 4, 1955], No. 6444/55. Class 108(3) A vibration isolator in strip form comprises two rows of elements 11, connected together by blocks 10 of rubber. Two strips are disposed side by side between sheet-metal panels or chassis and a rack (not shown). The prisms of one strip may be disposed at an angle of obliquity to another, so that the two strips have in combination equal stiffness in each of three mutually perpendicular directions. The elements 11 may be machined from light-alloy strip, or may be extruded or pressed in any suitable material. Tapped holes 11b are provided for connection purposes. The strip is flexible and may be disposed between a curved structure such as a chasis or tank and a curved shell (Fig. 3, not shown).
