Abstract
<PICT:0822675/III/1> Liquids are freed from contained gases by passing the liquid through a curved nozzle 1, Fig. 1, to impinge tangentially on the inner surface of a vertical cylindrical vessel. The nozzle 8 is provided with a diffuser 3, whereby the liquid is subject to pressure and accelerates at 7, and then flows without atomization in a spiral path around the inside wall 2 of the vessel upon which the liquid deposits as a film. The substantially dry gas flows around the lower edge of an inner concentric wall 4 and rises to an outlet. The inlet tube 6 may have a smaller radius of curvature than the vessel, to increase centrifugal force on the liquid.
