Abstract
822,416. Burners. CERMAK, J. Aug. 2, 1957 [Aug. 11, 1956], No. 24546/57. Class 75(1) [Also in Group XII] Pulverulant fuel is carried into a distribution head 2 by the primary combustion air through a tangential inlet 1, distributed by a cone 3 to tubes 4 arranged at angles to the common axis of the distribution head 2 and the toroidal combustion chamber 7. Fuel nozzles 6 on the ends of the tubes 4 deliver fuel upwardly and tangentially at the inner circumference of the combustion chamber 7, directly above the hot gas outlet 14 so that the fuel-air mixture leaving the nozzles is preheated. Secondary combustion air from a space 9 enters the combustion chamber tangentially. Transparent panels in the fuel supply tubes 4 allow observation of the fuel flow. All or part of the secondary air may be fed to the distribution head 2, and the arrangement may be used for liquid or gaseous fuel.
