Abstract
821,866. Magnets. SPODIG, H. Oct. 31, 1956 [Nov. 3, 1955], No. 33282/56. Class 35. In a permanently magnetized roller conveyer having at least two oppositely polarized rollers 15, 16 disposed side by side on parallel axes and combined with permanent magnets 7, 8, 17, 18 and magnetic conductors to form a magnetic system, the permanent magnets are fitted into the rollers in such polar relationship and are so magnetically interconnected that each roller is polarized by a pair of like poles of the system. In the embodiment shown, each roller has two magnets, the outer poles of which are magnetically interconnected by roller axles 13, 14 and mounting angles 5, 6, both of ferromagnetic material and which poles are spaced from their corresponding rollers by air gaps formed by cylindrically or frusto-conically counterboring the magnet accommodating recesses 9, 10 in the roller ends. Non-magnetic flanges 28 and screws secure the axles to the rollers. In other embodiments alternate rollers only have the two magnets, or each roller has only one magnet and the rollers alternatively are mounted in a channel section girder, and may be profiled.
