Abstract
820,742. Temperature-responsive actuating-elements. WILKINSON SWORD Ltd. Aug. 1, 1957 [Aug. 4, 1956], No. 24091/56. Class 64(2) [Also in Group XXXVII] Switch contacts (see Group XXXVII) are operated by an insulating button 16 carried on a metallic temperature-sensitive device comprising three bowed strips 11, 12, 13 of low expansion and a straight strip 14 of high expansion secured by projection welding, the strips 12, 13 and 14 being joined at their ends and the lowest strip 11 being' joined by its two ends to a base 10b of high expansion. The button 16 moves closer to the base as temperature increases.
