Abstract

826,030. Thermal switches. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. May 23, 1956 [June 17, 1955], No. 15927/56. Class 38 (5). A thermal switch comprises a bi-metallic disc member 14 normally sprung into contact with another member 10 and insulated therefrom by a ring 18 bonded to both members. The members 10, 14 have respective terminals 12, 16 and the current passing through the member 14 causes heating to effect opening of contacts 20, 22 with a snap-action. In Fig. 4 (not shown) both members are bi-metallic. The ring 18 is preferably continuous to form a sealed unit, but if the switch is not to be sealed the members may be formed as strips.
