Abstract

820,610. Making multiple-ply paper &c. BELOIT IRON WORKS. Jan. 10, 1958 [Jan. 18, 1957], No. 1034/58. Class 96. In the production of multiple ply paper or paper-board, pulp is deposited from slices 30, 32 and 40 on to a wire-cloth 12 as it passes about a foraminous roll 10 within a suction enclosure 24 exhausted at 24a. The composite web is transferred to a felt 36 with the aid of a pick-up roll 38. In a modification, the roll 10 is substituted by one with an internal instead of an external suction enclosure.
